ELECTRICAL SERVICES:
SUBSTATIONS:
201 KENT STREET:
201 Kent Street is served by one substation located on Level 5. The two 3,000 amp consumer mains to the building are supplied from two transformers giving a total power availability of 4,300 amps.
207 KENT STREET:
The 207 Kent Street tower is served by one substation located on Level 5. The supply is from two separate transformers, the total supply available is 3,000 amps.
RETICULATION:
201 KENT STREET:
The tenant power for the high-rise section of the tower is reticulated by two separate submains. The separate supplies are distributed to Levels 18 to 25 and Levels 26 to 34.
Reticulation for the low rise is via a riser serving Levels 5 to 15.
Each level is provided with a three phase 160 Amp fused supply for tenant use.
207 KENT STREET:
Tenant power is reticulated by two separate submains. The separate supplies are distributed to Levels 5 to 14 and Levels 15 to 24.
Each level is provided with a three phase 160 Amp fused supply for tenant use.
TENANT LIGHT & POWER RETICULATION:
201 KENT STREET:
Each floor is provided with a three-phase supply at 415 volts.
This is available, in the high rise, through a 30-way distribution board and a 42-way distribution board provided on each level. These distribution boards may be split into a number of individual tenancy supplies.
Space is provided within the riser cupboard for the tenants’ electricity meters. The installed meter board has the capacity to meter nine single phase of three phase supplies.
Availability in the low rise is through a 42-way distribution board, as well as an 18-way distribution board provided on each level.
The tenant supply to Levels 5 to 15 is individually metered on each level with metering provision located in the rise or adjacent cupboard.
Reticulation of final sub circuits throughout the tower is via the ceiling space to perimeter and centre zones.
207 KENT STREET:
Each floor is provided with a three-phase supply at 415 Volts.
This is available through a 24-way distribution board and a 36-way distribution board provided on each level. These distribution boards may be split into a number of individual tenancy supplies.
Space provided within the riser cupboard for the tenants’ supply meters. The installed meter board has the capacity to meter nine single phase on three 3-phase supplies.
Reticulation of final sub circuits is via the ceiling space to perimeter and centre zones.
STANDBY POWER:
Each tower is provided with a standby diesel generator. Each generator has 950 kVA capacity. The generators are arranged such that upon failure of the Energy Australia supply, they start and load automatically.
The main purpose of the generators is to provide back up power to the buildings essential services. This includes all common area lighting, essential ventilation and equipment, pumping equipment and single lift in each rise.
A section of the tenant distribution board is supplied from the house riser by means of changeover contactors. This enables the standby power to be reticulated to the tenant’s pre-arranged loads. Any connection to this standby power is on load shed and cannot be guaranteed. All connections must be discussed and approved by Building Management.
